Self Help Is Best For Overcoming Shyness

By Hans S Delane

If you are a very shy person, the thought of talking to strangers may make you extremely nervous. There is an instant uneasiness if you think about talking to new people. Extreme amount of shyness can cause social inhibitions which lead to disruption of normal social interaction with people. This problem is called social anxiety and it affects millions of people at some point in their life. Cognitive behavioral treatment is one of the best therapies for curing this disorder.

Scientists actually thought that the family's environment directly impacted the emotional growth of the children while they morph into adults. It is now clear that some people are shy by nature. Some people are able to manage and overcome this but some continue to suffer till the end of their lives. In today's times, one doesn't need to mingle face to face and can do social interactions virtually. Thanks to the internet and its associated characteristics like email interaction and computer gaming, the social interaction potential is greatly reduced. In order to cure this disorder, there are many things one can do to overcome its negative effects.

At the outset, you need to identity what triggers the negative thoughts. You cannot feel shy in every situation all the time. At which point in time do you feel nervous? Do you get negative ideas on your own without thinking about them? Before negative thoughts take center stage in your mind, try and challenge them, question your logic and don't accept them as is.

As a shy person, you need to start ingraining the thought the what you are thinking is only a guess. Do not focus too much on anything that reconfirms your belief on anxiety. Instead, shift your focus and attention on something that is opposite. In reality, one cannot please everyone at the same time.

Put yourself right in the front and confront the negativity. It is a good idea to expose yourself to the situation as you yourself intentionally put yourself in situations which make you anxious. One of the best ways to deal with this is to constantly start facing situations so that the anxiety softens its grips and erodes away. The end objective should be to attract what you are fearful of and to realize that it isn't a big deal. You may have a rumbling feeling in your stomach, but it is worth doing as soon as possible. The more you delay it, the more you will torture yourself.

Shyness happens to be a personality characteristic and not a psychological imbalance or disorder. It has varying degrees of shyness. Some people simply can't face crowd and then there are some who want to live like hermits, totally cut off from the world. That's not the way one should be living their life. Some shy people treat shyness as a cocoon. The cocoon provides them warmth, quietness and aloofness. At the same time, it is very dark, lonely and confining.

Ask your family members and friends to support you. When you are in a difficult situation they will lend their help and provide pointers to you. If you know that there is someone out there to hand hold you, it becomes quite easy and comforting. Very soon, you will realize that you are gradually losing your fears and gaining confidence. When you attain a good social life, you will have a realization that how easy and comforting it is to meet people.

You can do multiple things to overcome shyness. Start taking one step at a time which can turn out to be a good beginning to ensure that shyness disappears. There is much more to resolve this disorder but with these pointers, one can make a good beginning. - 30309

6 Ways To Manage Your Anger

By Jeanene Fisher

Everyone has experienced anger lots of times. I now I have. How about you?

Anger is normal. The problem comes when the anger is not controlled. Anger not managed leads to careers that are ruined, relationships that are strained, and some people even commit crimes when their anger builds and builds.

Learning to deal with and control your anger is very important. Here are some suggestions to help manage your anger.

1. Do you have someone in your life that is easy to TALK to? Who is understanding? Perhaps you have a family member or close friend who qualifies. Try talking your anger out with them. This lets you tell your side of the story and hopefully you will listen as your friend explains the story from a different perspective. Talking it out, listening to other ideas, may help you to understand your anger and thus manage it.

2. During a fit of anger, WRITE down your thoughts and feelings. No one talks back so it is easier to get things off your chest. Writing can also help you identify different "triggers" that cause your outbursts. Writing by hand or on your computer both work well.

3. Have you ever wanted to do something PHYSICAL to someone? You'd like to "take it out" on them because they did something to you. Don't assault the person. Use all that pent up energy at the gym, go for a run, or even hit a pillow. By releasing that energy on a neutral article, you can manage your anger and not hurt anyone in the process.

4. Although it may be difficult to get away, taking a VACATION or going some place to spend time alone is a great way to look at things from a different perspective. Remove yourself from the place that causes your anger and frustration and you can see things in a new way. You can find some solutions to your problem, too.

5. Prayer and meditation work well for some people with anger management problems. Both of these activities give you a chance to be alone with your thoughts in a way to release tension. Letting go of your anger and negative thoughts will make a positive change in your life.

6. Other techniques include deep breathing exercises, physical exercise, getting more sleep, getting outside and into nature, learning to laugh, playing an instrument or listening to music. Many people find these are great ways of getting control of their anger.

So work on using some of these ways to manage your anger. Uncontrolled anger brings lots of adverse consequences. Controlled anger will let you a happier life. - 30309

Learn How To Overcome Your Fear Of Extreme Cold

By Trevor Johnson

Being in extremely cold weather is not something that most people enjoy but there are a good amount of people out there that completely fear the extreme cold. A fear of extreme cold is classified as cryophobia and it is defined as an unreasonable trepidation of the intense cold, frost or ice.

There might be a lot of people who experience cryophobia but it is hard to say exactly how many people it affects since the person can avoid the symptoms if they avoid cold weather. In order to get a better picture of this fear, it is important to know the symptoms, diagnostic tests and treatments for cryophobia.

Knowing how the person came to fear the extreme cold is not always easy to find out but there has been speculation that the inability to control how cold the temperature will get could be a major factor. Whenever a cryophobe is faced with the extreme cold they experience symptoms of panic, terror, rapid heart rate, shortness of breath, shaking, anxiety and doing whatever necessary to stay away from the extreme cold. Since most of these symptoms are comparable to other phobias it can lead to an accidental misdiagnosis.

It is important to realize that just being afraid of really cold weather is not enough to be considered a person that suffers from cryophobia. A cryophobic must avoid extremely cold weather at all costs even if it seems absolutely silly to do so.

In order to correctly diagnosis a fear, the person in question must encounter what they are afraid of. A simple test, such as asking the person to enter a larger freezer or being introduced to a cold climate, could determine if the person actually suffers from cryophobia.

The varying types of treatments available for phobias are numerous but only two have been proven as adequate forms of treatment. A person could overcome their phobia by breaking it down into different phases and addressing them one at a time. This treatment does work but it can take months or years for the treatment to be end. Hypnotherapy has proven itself as an effective treatment for phobias. The treatment consists of a hypnotherapist tapping into the subconscious of the patient in order to help the patient to be victorious over their fear. - 30309

Environmental Awareness: Where You Are Before Projecting

By Alex Brod

If you make the conscious choice to perform astral projection, you need to know that it cannot be done just anywhere. Don't think you'll be able to project while on a crowded, noisy train or at a baseball game. The atmosphere doesn't have to exactly be established to certain specifications, but some essential aspects will need to exist in order for your concentration to remain steady enough to enter the hypnogogic (pre-sleep) state and eventually have your soul leave your body. Read over and follow the subsequent pre- astral projection steps in order to properly prepare your mind and body for the departure of the soul.

First, and most importantly, the place you intend to project from has to be quiet. If you know there will be auditory disturbances going on, either try to plan around them or choose a different spot to begin your meditation. Turn off or unplug your telephone, make sure the television and radio aren't on, and let housemates or relatives know you do not wish to be bothered.

You'll also need somewhere comfortable to sit, such as a bed or a cushioned chair. A bed would be ideal since you won't have to cram yourself into the confines of a recliner, and it will be softer than the floor while allowing the room to spread out as the floor would.

Lighting must also be taken into consideration. Brightly-lit rooms will be too distracting, and complete darkness might prove to be a bit unsettling especially for a beginner. Therefore, it is best to maintain a reasonable medium between the two extremes and begin your meditation in a room with dim lighting. This can be achieved maybe by turning on one lamp and placing a sheet over it, or lighting some candles, or simply meditating around sunrise with the curtain drawn back.

Environment is not only limited to the room in which you're situated it also applies to the clothing you are wearing. You need to be completely relaxed when projecting, so this means you should wear loose, relaxed-fit clothing or, if you're confident you will not be disturbed and you are comfortable in such a state, do not wear clothing during the process. Tight-fitting clothing will cause your body to be tense, and this will inhibit your ability to fully relax or concentrate, and will make it much more difficult for your soul to exit your body.

Moreover, be sure that the temperature in the room is slightly warmer than what you are normally comfortable with. This is because the physical body will become cooler once projection begins, and a sensation of coldness that is too strong may jolt you out of projection and send your astral soul crashing back into your earthly body. - 30309

Seeing Double: The Projection of a Doppelganger

By James Riker

One particular type of spiritual nonpareil that often is not associated with astral projection is the occurrence of doppelgangers. These instances of non-physical activity involve seeing a double or a look-alike of oneself or someone else. Often, these incidents are deemed paranormal in nature however, they are also [probably more accurately] considered a type of astral projection experience.

The reason doppelgangers are considered to be a product of astral travel is because the appearance of a double tends to occur under the same kinds of circumstances that perpetuate astral projection. Sickness, fatigue, and distress can all produce a sort of astral twin that can carry on outside the body.

One very notable difference between the typically projected soul and the doppelganger is that the look-alike is actually a physical entity that one can make close contact with. Many reports pertaining to these spiritual "stunt doubles" describe the person who is seeing their twin reaching out and touching them, and feeling a physical awareness of that touch. Most people are not alert enough to see their own astral bodies during the moment of projection, so another difference between traditional projection and the existence of a doppelganger is that the person whom the shadow twin has imitated can, in fact, see said lookalike.

Also unlike typical astral projection, where only you know where exactly you are, other people can see a doppelganger and may mistake it for the real person. But why would two of the same person need to exist in the same world? It is hypothesized that a person's doppelganger is one of the halves that make up the entire person, and when a person's spiritual twin exits the body, it often has set out on a mission of sorts that it feels it must complete perhaps to do something that the person themselves does not want to do or is unable to do.

The opinion of the nature of doppelgangers remains undecided; many speculate that one's double is evil, and that seeing your spiritual twin is a sign of imminent doom. Others claim doppelgangers are just sort of "there" and are soulless, walking entities. There aren't any accounts of anyone intentionally projecting their ghostly twin, meaning this type of event is not something that can be performed willingly. The emergence of the doppelganger may simply be a manifestation of a person's grief, anger, anxiety and depression once their sanity has reached its limit for the aforementioned emotions.

It seems, despite all other hypotheses pertaining to this paranormal curiosity, doppelgangers are a form of projection at their core. An exact copy of a person that can carry out the very same appearance and behavior as the original individual could ostensibly only truly be achieved if the twin was projected from the owner's body. - 30309

Fighting Anxiety Disorder - And Winning!

By Candace Martin

If you suffer from an anxiety disorder you're all too knowledgeable about its effects. Anxiety disorder can occur any time in life, and kids in addition to adults can be impacted by it. Panic disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder are among the manifestations of anxiety disorders. Here is some information to help you learn the basics of generalized anxiety disorder and what people who have this disorder can do.

Typically a generalized anxiety disorder is evidenced by a recurrent sensation of being afraid or worried about daily matters. This condition can deprive you of a good night's sleep, so it is not uncommon to feel tense or fatigued during the day. Stomach difficulties, like feeling nauseous and having diarrhea, are occasionally a consequence of worrying that consumes your life. Individuals suffering from generalized anxiety disorder also have to deal with constant back pain, neck pain, muscle tension, and headaches.

Medical professionals are not entirely sure of what exactly leads to a general anxiety disorder. Many people with this disorder are treated by medication, so inadequate levels of dopamine and serotonin are thought to be the explanations for generalized anxiety disorder. Researchers are at present examining the role that genetics and an individual's environment play in the explanation for generalized anxiety disorder, as GAD is inclined to run in families. One consideration when making a diagnosis is that a large number of people with this disorder suffered from heavy stress before its inception.

Although no one knows for sure what triggers it, doctors at least have the ability today to treat the distressing symptoms and enhance patients' daily lives. Medication is the first course of action, as is true of other psychological disorders such as depression. Prozac and Paxil are just a couple of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (also referred to as SSRIs) health care providers might utilize to lessen or inhibit anxiety related symptoms and conditions. There are, however, other prescription choices for doctors when these medications fail to improve symptoms.

The best plan of treatment will be to use a mixture of medication in addition to psychotherapy. Psychotherapy, as it consists of getting control over your thoughts, can offer a lot of help to most individuals. Typically, psychotherapy sessions are led by a psychologist or psychiatrist who has experience in dealing with anxiety disorders. Exercises that focus on relaxation such as yoga or meditation can also be very effective and noninvasive ways to treat anxiety naturally. The combination typically brings less serious symptoms and a better life for you. - 30309

Learning How To Astral Travel

By Timmy Shaw

Astral projection is basically just another way of describing an out-of-body experience, but the two terms are not always synonymous with one another. What I mean by this is not all instances of astral projection are intentional; you might see several internet walk-throughs on how to execute AP with the complete intention of doing so. But, more often than not, astral projection occurs without the traveler actually consciously deciding to do so. What will be discussed here is a guide to astral projection, but more a guide to the various ways in which projection can occur spontaneously.

One of the most commonly known instances of involuntary projection occurs at the moment of death. Many people who were near the deceased before said individual passed on have reported seeing the nearly-departed person's soul lifting out of the body - usually through the head - right before the person passed away. There have also been instances of souls projecting themselves into the homes of loved ones at the moment the owner of said soul has died in some way or another. This is to let the loved ones know what has happened.

Physical pain and illness may make cause the soul to project as well; the body may be in a decreased state of consciousness due to the physical impairment, which means a less firm grasp on the soul. In such a state of being, the astral body can depart the corporeal body with greater ease.

A similar effect can be experienced when under the influence of anesthesia the body is not conscious, so the soul may decide to take the opportunity to drift. This is why many people report looking down upon themselves being operated on, or knowing exactly what the doctors were discussing during the surgery that couldn't have been known unless the patient was conscious.

Near-death experiences can also bring about out-of-body experiences nearly being run over by a car, or nearly drowning, for example. Even if you are technically 'dead' and brought back to life via procedures like CPR or heart massage, the soul may lift from the body until said earthly body is healthy enough for the soul to return to it.

And, of course, the most common manner in which the astral essence migrates from the physical body is when the person is asleep. Obviously, consciousness is limited, making the earthly body's grasp on the soul not quite as strong. Just about everyone projects during their sleep, but they don't remember doing so. If you've ever been awakened for seemingly no reason in the middle of your sleep and felt like you've been "jolted" awake, you were most likely projecting and your soul just had a rough landing when re-entering your body. - 30309

Exactly What Is A Panic Attack?

By Greg Anderson

A panic attack happens when your body suddenly gets overwhelmed with feelings such as fear, panic, and stress. Usually, it is impossible to predict panic attacks since they often come out of nowhere. This type of anxiety disorder is one of the worst because it has such bad side effects.

Approximately three million people living the the U.S. are stricken by panic attacks every year. Often people are not sure what is going on since they have not experienced this before and they are scared they might be suffering a heart attack or close to death.

Sadly, the people who do not know that the fear and panic they feel is actually a panic attack will not seek out treatment since they are simply unaware. The attacks often get worse until the person suffering them can not deal with them at all.

Panic attacks are the cause of many issues and usually get worse if left untreated. Every person may have slightly different symptoms but the most frequently seen effects of a panic attack are: Rapid onset panic, breaking into a sweat, overly rapid heartbeat, trouble breathing, becoming dizzy, becoming faint, and having pain.

Since a panic attack is such an awful experience, a lot of people end up so scared to have more attacks that they bring them on more rapidly. It is vital to get treatment quickly to put panic attacks behind you.

Sometimes doctors prescribe drugs to patients who suffer from panic attacks in an effort to lower their anxiety levels. Unfortunately, these drugs are pretty difficult to take and have some fairly nasty side effects of their own, such as inability to stay away, and becoming disoriented. There are some non drug based programs that can really get panic attacks under control, and using a program like this is preferable.

Ideally, panic attacks should be handled by utilizing a program that gets inside the brain, where panic attacks originate. Programs such as Panic Away use a psychologically sound technique to help the brain to understand how to deal with and completely eliminate panic attacks. Some of the program tips are so simple that they can be used immediately with success.

Panic attacks are not a problem which will ever improve if they just have a bandage put on them: They need a real cure. Following a psychologically sound program like the one referenced above can help you achieve the cure for panic attacks. - 30309

A Review On Astral Travel Books

By Caroline Sanders

One particular astral projection book that seems to stick out a bit from the rest is the one simply titled Astral Projection by Brad Steiger. I will come right out and say that if you're on the lookout for a book that teaches voluntary astral projection, you may want to keep looking. Steiger's book does discuss projection, but he chooses to focus more on instances of projection that occur naturally or not exactly through willpower.

You've heard of people who talk about how they had out-of-body experiences while in surgery or during a near-death experience this is sort of the focal point of the book. However, the book does not just focus on astral travel and OBEs; Steiger presents a variety of subjects in his book that all sort of relate to the same principle.

Aside from OBEs, Steiger does discuss voluntary projection (particularly, an instance where he was able to make contact with a Scottish lady from decades ago), teleportation, bilocation, astral teachers and guides, doppelgangers, and tele-hypnosis. At the time I found Astral Projection, I'd already read Steiger's massive collection of real ghost stories and had become a fan of his work. That being said, I was quite curious to read his views on projection when I spotted this book of his on a shelf.

I was slightly disappointed in the book only because I was expecting to read information on how to intentionally execute astral projection, as opposed to how projection is able to transpire against one's will. However, that dissatisfaction quickly vanished once I got to reading the book; much like the aforementioned ghost book, this guide was filled with actual accounts from people who have had first-hand experiences with astral projection, or who have been witness to the phenomenon (such as people who have had loved ones project to them at the time of said loved ones' deaths).

Personally, I feel this book is a must for anyone who wants to attempt premeditated astral projection. After all, how can you try and willingly project if you are uninterested in first learning about the ways you can naturally project? Even if you do not wish to attempt astral travel, this book is still very informative on the several different types of projection.

And trust me when I say this book is very hard to miss; the cover is a vibrant shade of magenta. In short, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wishes to learn more about astral projection, any beginner spiritual travelers, or just anyone who is interested in the wonders of the human mind and soul. - 30309

Fear Of Needles - Overcome Your Fear

By Trevor Johnson

A fear of needles is something that actually affects about 10% of the population. Some people are afraid of all needles, while others only have issues with needles in specific contexts. Many times a fear of needles can be overcome as most people have had a traumatic experience dealing with needles and this is the cause of their fear.

Also some people may be fine with needles in one context while they may have a great fear of needles when they are used to take blood. Everyone varies and you're the person who is best placed to know when your needle phobia is triggered most often.

Is it the needles itself or is it the process involving the needle. Many times it may be blood that is causing the problem as an individual that fears needles has no problem at the dentists.

Another effective method of treatment is behavioral therapy. Behavioral therapy works slightly different than hypnotherapy as it programs a different response to needles then fear or the need to flee. With this treatment it is possible to change your response through your subconscious and reprogram your brain to be different from your normal response.

You may even be able to overcome your phobia of needles by attempting to be around needles, or by prolonged exposure to them. Many times this is only successful if you have help from someone else, maybe in the form of a hypnosis track that is designed to help you conquer your fear of these sharp implements.

Though if you just have a fear of needles when you are at the dentist, since you only need to go once a year to the dentist it may not be a great concern to overcome this fear. Fear of needles may not be that big of a concern as you may not be around needles that frequently. - 30309

Getting Over Your Fear Of Clouds

By Trevor Johnson

You will find that everyone that you know has a fear of something, no matter what it is the fear can range from being uncomfortable around it or it can be so bad that the person will avoid it altogether. One such fear in Nephophobia, this is a fear of clouds. This kind of fear can range from mild to life altering where the person suffers sever symptoms of anxiety.

The good news is that this is something that people are able to get over if they have access to the right help. There are some people who suffer so badly that they cannot even go outdoors, virtually prisoners in their own homes, but even they can get help so that they can take one step at a time.

One of the main ways is to relax; this is easier I am sure for those to say who are not in the situation; however it is achievable with the right help and the recovery methods have been discovered successfully with sufferers. The longer you wait for help the harder it will get to overcome the problem, but you should be aware that even those who have suffered for decades have been able to once again enjoy life.

You have to first accept that the thoughts you have are irrational and that getting angry because others do not feel this way will only lead to self resentment and possibly depression. In itself depression can be dangerous but linked with other problems you could end up going round and round in a never ending circle.

Other people are able to face up to their fears each day, and although going it alone can seem a daunting task there are people who can help you to make the best of your situation and to take away or control the feelings that have controlled your life for so long. You will e able to manage the either mild or severe feelings of anxiety over time and this will allow you to lead a normal life again.

It can be hard to imagine that others have the same fear, however they do and they are going through the same as you are, some have taken the help that has been given and you would not even know now that they had ever felt the way that you do now. The first step has to be taken in order to have the quality of life they both want and deserve. - 30309

Treating Anxiety Attacks - Options

By Greg Anderson

Anxiety and one of its key symptoms - panic attacks ? need treatment. The most obvious reason to seek treatment for anxiety is to eliminate the often crippling impact it has on sufferers? lives. An equally important reason is that without treatment, anxiety sufferers risk of developing even more serious anxiety-based disorders and behavioral problems. It is essential to seek an effective treatment for anxiety that will address current symptoms and prevent them worsening.

As with treatments for other conditions, it is important to find the right anxiety treatment for you ? a treatment that is not only effective but one you are comfortable with. The good news is that there are many effective treatments for anxiety available ? you have options. If one approach is not desirable or as effective as hoped, it is very likely that another approach will be.

Feeling positive and hopeful in regards to your treatment is a good indicator of the level of success it will have.

Listed below are the primary options for anxiety treatment.

Treatment for Anti-Anxiety Using Drugs

Quite a few different drugs are prescribed for the treatment of anxiety. These drugs are most often ones that are made especially for anxiety, and include Klonopin, Ativan, and Valium. Normally, the prescribed dosage is "as needed", but sometimes your doctor will have you take a daily dosage for mild anxiety problems. Sometimes, anti-depressants are prescribed for anxiety problems because they can have a positive effect on stress levels, but such drugs were not made for this purpose.

Using medication to treat anxiety can be effective, but it is not really a long term solution. These drugs can be very addictive, and should not be taken for extended periods. Additionally, such medications are not able to stop the core causes of anxiety, they just deal with the symptoms.

Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy for Anxiety

Hypnosis is a completely natural and for many, highly effective option for treating anxiety. Hypnotherapy combats anxiety by inducing deep relaxation, allowing underlying causes to be explored and responses to be retrained through hypnotic suggestion.

Ironically, anxiety can be an obstacle to the effectiveness of hypnosis ? sufferers find it more difficult than most to relax and ?give themselves up? to the hypnotherapist. Another limitation is that while hypnosis is effective at treating generalized anxiety it is far less effective (and potentially dangerous) at treating anxiety accompanied with acute panic attacks. In these cases, reputable hypnotherapists ted to accept patients only if they are also receiving professional counseling or cognitive therapy.

Self-hypnosis exercises practiced in the safe and familiar environment of home can provide some relief from anxiety but again, does little for acute anxiety expressed as panic attacks.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, is often used in anti-anxiety treatment and is one of the more popular treatments today. CBT based programs help the patient to respond differently to their anxiety and panic attack triggers. CBT looks for the faulty thought patterns that allow anxiety to occur, and help the patient to change these patterns.

CBT can be effective for anxiety and panic attack patients, but it is a long process. Typically, CBT involves a series of mental exercises that must be performed regularly. While it does take some dedication on the part of the patient, this is a quite effective treatment. CBT allows panic and anxiety to be truly eliminated, so it is a cure rather than a short term fix. - 30309

What Are Panic Attack Symptoms?

By Greg Anderson

The symptoms that indicate a panic attack is taking place can differ by person and most of the time there are more symptoms than just panic. Feelings of being scared, alone, and in severe pain also come along with panic attacks for many who suffer from them this debilitating illness.

Some of those who have panic attacks experience different symptoms than others, but almost also people will see an increase in symptoms if their panic attacks are left untreated.

According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders IV from the American Psychiatric Association, panic attacks will include a period of feeling intense fear or discomfort, during which at least four of the below symptoms also occur.

If a panic attack is to be diagnosed as a medical panic attack, the symptoms have to reach their high point within a period ten minutes. Each of five symptoms must be shown during this period.

Panic Attack Symptoms

Usually some of the other effects of a panic attack are some of the following: Heart pounding, sweats, chills, overheating, having breathing issues, feeling of choking, chest pain, feeling of nausea, abdominal pain, dizziness, feeling like insanity is setting in, and numbness or a tingling feeling in the extremities. These symptoms may be simultaneous or may happen in rapid succession, it varies by person.

Since the symptoms of a panic attack can frequently be completely overwhelming, these attacks can cause sufferers to be completely incapacitated at times. While treatment of panic attacks is very important, prevention of future attacks is also key.

It is completely possible to eliminate panic attacks from your life completely, even if you have had them for years. A program like Panic Away bases its techniques in the psychology of the human brain. A program like this, which gets to the root of the problem, will have a much higher rate of success than other methods of treatment. - 30309

"Stephen Richards Reveals How Anxiety Attacks Can Be Cured In Less Than 30 Minutes?"

By Jan West

How many times have you been lured by the flashy promise of a cure from panic attacks (social anxiety disorder)? It seems almost too good to be true, but what are the chances of curing you from what these nerve racking situations bring on you: from panic attacks to being fearful of strangers to simply being tongue tied at or feared of social events?

What's the point of giving you the hard sell but not following through with some worthless 'freebie' downloads that will never be used? So there you go, you are now captiviated by the sales pitch and all these free items you are going to be receiving. Your mind is racing at the very thought of getting these, when all you really went on there to look for was some help in clearing away your panic attacks! So do be warned.

The unfairness of it all is that the products or product you have just purchased turn out to be, at best, an ideal bulking agent for clogging up your PC or something just to listen to when you have a few spare hours through your hurried day. I'm sure you get the idea now.

When you read what leading global self-improvement and mind power author Stephen Richards says about certain methods of treatment you may well reach the conclusion that most of these treatments are just a farce. Stephen Richards says, "If you are looking for a total and permanent fix for social anxiety disorder and are not receiving any treatment at present, you can forget about cognitive hypnotherapy or even electro stimulation offered by so-called therapists. They are just opportunists posing as therapists. I am not saying certain therapies do not work, but you would certainly need prolonged treatment and a huge wallet to fully undergo the desired changes."

The self-help industry, especially in the curative therapies, has made a good living off exploiting the weaknesses of those in need. The first step to overcoming social phobia is an acceptance that you have now started work on reversing it.

Look at it this way, if you are immersed over prolonged periods in the very act of ridding yourself of social anxiety disorder then that in itself will protract the very thing you are trying to resolve. The very same panic attack you want to avoid will manifest itself at the least expected time. This could be in the form of chest tightness, increased heart rate, dizziness, uncontrolled sweating, shortness of breath, headaches, obsessive thoughts and more.

In the way these 'cure all' products are pushed at you and in such quantity it is no wonder the amount of panic attacks is on the increase. By virtue of the amount of products out there it is easy to be caught up into thinking that it is a fashion to actually have such a disorder.

Many of these products use subliminal messaging, where the words are embedded in the music or background sounds, these are wasteful of your time. Subliminal messages should not scare you. Scientific studies have proven that if the subconscious mind is intentionally programmed with positive thoughts that soon the conscious mind will begin to act with the information and positive results will be obtained. But why make it so difficult to take in?

What if there was something that actually worked better than subliminal messaging? What if it were self-hypnosis? Well that may work to bolster up your confidence levels when you are alone, but just try that in a social anxiety setting! See what happens, or rather what does not happen.

The real groundbreaking technology that has made a breakthrough in the cure of social anxiety disorder is very, very simple! In the most advanced cure for social anxiety phobia, International Best-selling Self-help Author Stephen Richards has done away with the need for self-hypnosis or the use of subliminal messaging.

Stephen Richards has, when he worked full time in therapy, cured long-term agoraphobics in just one session. Bringing some of that expertise forward to the now, he designed this technique and has extraordinarily broken with protocol of the usual cognitive therapy used by therapists. Gone are the wasteful and time consuming downloads of MP3 files or PDF printouts. It is the most straightforward method you will ever come across, and all on one CD! Yes, the "Releasing You From Social Anxiety CD" by Stephen Richards is just on one CD! This is a solid, real life CD ... not a download. This is an amazing feat to pack so much into such a small space when you consider most self-help downloads are on about 10 x MP3 files, or even the CDs you get through the ordinary post could not be listened to even you spent all day playing one after another.

Stephen Richards has developed a method to help overcome social anxiety disorder that is so simple. Just one 20 minute session can do what others claim to do in tens of hours. One other criterion he stipulated was that it had to be inexpensive so that anyone could afford it. After working on this project and fine tuning it, Stephen Richards was happy to proceed to the stage of where it became available to the public for less than the cost of a film DVD.

After listening for just 20 minutes of track two, the "Releasing You From Social Anxiety CD" does away with hours and hours of listening to boring MP3 downloads. The other great piece of news is that Stephen Richards is not taking advantage of those in need by charging way over the top for the CD. It is with this in mind that prompted him to go into action to design such a product that would do away with the less than reasonable stance these others had taken on what he considered to be a fair price. As well as this, he wanted a genuine 'fast fix', not just something that promised all but delivered nothing.

In disappointment, Stephen Richards says, "When I saw what some so-called therapists were charging for what was little more than a collection of wasteful items I was quite determined to provide a better level of help and at a fair price. You might say my therapist's mind went into action. If anything is to be accepted as genuine it must be clear as crystal, be affordable by all and must be able to do what it says on the box. - 30309

Astral Travel Through Mental Projection

By Sandra Parker

Believe it or not, there's actually more than one way to perform astral projection. The most commonly utilized method is that of entering a trance-like state (walking the fine line between slumber and unconsciousness) and separating the soul from the body.

In order to explain these other astral projection methods, you will need to know of another type of projection known as mental projection. This is sort of the groundwork for spiritual projection, and it involves entering a state of mind that's not quite as strong as a trance, but not quite as delicate as a daydream somewhere between the two. Mental projection is also pretty easy to achieve - simply put your concentration on something else and "zone out". Your mind will sort of go off and do its own thing unless you give it some sort of direction.

I told you about mental projection in order to further discuss the other forms of astral projection. If done properly, you may begin mental projection and simply imagine your soul leaving your body, and your astral self might begin to follow suit. If you have ever felt the odd sensation of walking around just because your body was doing what it knows how to do, but mentally you felt like you were just somewhere else odds are, your mind was projecting or trying to project. This can happen involuntarily, as it's quite easy to "zone out" and kind of lose yourself in a powerful daydream.

However, in order to imagine your astral body leaving your earthly one, you have to be able to have an exceptionally clear picture in your mind of what your astral self looks like. You cannot substitute in a mental image of an amorphous spiritual blob in place of your astral self because that is a body unfamiliar to you and your soul, so said soul will have no desire to follow that example. The combined mental/astral projection method is something that would most likely be reserved for individuals who have had success with the more common means of projection. Such individuals will already have an idea of what their astral body looks like.

There are countless variations on astral projection methods, to the point where it is difficult to pinpoint them all. Two people can follow the exact same steps and have completely different experiences. Some individuals have a very clear and pleasant experience, while others may have a vague and objectionable experience. This is usually due to the amount of consciousness that is transmitted to the astral body from the physical body; if your perception is halfway into your astral self and halfway into your corporeal self, projection cannot work. It's very easy to allow your thoughts to stray during the initial stages of projection and it can throw off your meditation. - 30309

Practice making each statement contain a positive ending. You could say I really do not like my job; but, it offers flexible hours. She talks way to much but at least she is honest. Reinforcing positive thinking is the key. Shine some light into the dark by changing your thought process.

Think about what can and cannot be changed in your life. Concentrate on what can be changed. Understand the difference between not being able to do it and not wanting to do it. While these techniques may not completely treat the depression; not using them can be detrimental to the recovery process. Know that you deserve to be happy and can make it happen. Millions of people, just like you, have fought and won the depression battle. - 30309

What Are The Symptoms Of A Panic Attack?

By Greg Anderson

Panic attack symptoms can vary widely by the person, and contrary to their name, they often involve a lot more than panic alone. Fear, illness, pain, and many other problems can come along with the feelings of panic, leaving the person suffering the panic attack feeling completely helpless at times.

Everybody is unique, but almost always panic attacks that are ignored will only keep getting worse and more frequent.

The DSM IV, the manual of the American Psychiatric Association, states that panic attacks will commonly start with a time of extreme fear, which is then accompanied by a minimum of four of the symptoms that are listed below. All five symptoms must be present during this time.

In order for the panic attack to qualify as a medical panic attack, the symptoms will have reached their high point inside of ten minutes.

Other Panic Attack Symptoms

Some of the symptoms that define a panic attack are: Heart Palpitations, pounding heart, or accelerated heart rate, Sweating, chills, or hot flashes, feeling of smothering or being unable to breathe, sensation of choking, chest pain or discomfort, feelings of nausea, abdominal distress, feelings of faintness, dizziness, or being lightheaded, fear of losing control, fear of going insane, fear of dying, and numbness or tingling in the body.

Since the symptoms of a panic attack can frequently be completely overwhelming, these attacks can cause sufferers to be completely incapacitated at times. While treatment of panic attacks is very important, prevention of future attacks is also key.

Anyone can eradicate panic attacks from their life, but it will take a dedicated approach and often will need the use of a method such as Panic Away. This program uses the brain's inner workings to get control of panic attacks and will allow the best chance to beat them. - 30309

Common Problems When Learning Astral Travel

By Randy Kriller

There are numerous sources available online that discuss just how to do astral projection, but not a whole lot that talk about what not to do. Projection is a delicate process and, as a result of such, the slightest imperfection can ruin the whole routine. If you're a beginner (and you may be one for years) or even intermediate astral traveler, you should be aware of the things that can hinder your traveling attempts.

Projection does require some degree of relaxation and narrowed consciousness, but it cannot be so lacking that you fall asleep. If you choose to go about a sort of "classic" means of projecting and meditate first, you must remember to maintain enough of your consciousness to concentrate on getting your astral essence out of your mortal body, as well as block out the pre-projection sensations you feel (like vibrations or crackling noises). Basically, you have to learn to put your body to sleep, but keep your mind awake sort of like lucid dreaming.

Another issue astral travelers face is their minds trying to block out any images or feelings they experience while projection occurs. This is due either to fear, lack of familiarity with what is being felt, or a combination of both. It is also a common concern for novice astral voyagers. You must learn to not allow yourself to be frightened or distracted by these sensations; if your concentration on actually escaping your body is interrupted or rerouted to another source, projection will fail.

Finally, you absolutely must learn to be patient. Most people who willingly try to project will not succeed the first time they try, or even the first few times. Everyone has a different level of spiritual power, which means everyone will develop their abilities to project at different paces. Experiencing some botched efforts to astral project does not mean you are a failure or that you have failed at the actual act of projecting.

Projection is like any other skill unless you're a rare prodigy and can master the ability immediately, it will take practice. Even people who are considered "naturals" (being very good at what they do) take lots of time and practice to get to a point where they are considered proficient. You will need to train quite a bit before you figure out exactly what to do as far as projection, so definitely do not be discouraged if you don't feel you've achieved success. There's a very good chance you were successful anyway, though not in fully projecting, but in honing your abilities and building toward being able to genuinely leave your body. - 30309

Some Things That Can Cause A Fear Of Men

By Trevor Johnson

There are a lot of women all over the world that suffer from a severe fear of men. There are a lot of things that can contribute to this, and here we will look at what some of them are.

Beatings that have been endured by a woman are one reason for women to be afraid of men. This can have a very devastating on the life that the women has after the attack. It can result in a lot of negative things that they may have to endure for a very long time, sometimes the rest of their lives.

Emotional abuse is another reason that many women have a fear of men. This can be more damaging than physical abuse, and the effects can last for a very long time. Women become intimidated by the men that have abused them in the past and this can be something that they can have a very hard time getting over, if they ever do.

Men that have shown a tendency to loud, angry outbursts can also be a factor when it comes to women developing a fear of men. The women tend to get nervous and tense up when it comes to this type of thing, which is a defence mechanism. Women can feel that they may become a victim if the outbursts continue.

Women that have experienced rape or some other form of assault can also feel a great fear towards the opposite sex. This feeling is due to the violation that they feel from having been a victimized in such a traumatic way.

There are some things that women can do to overcome the fear of men that they have. Psychiatrists are trained to deal with people that suffer from traumatic experiences like these and are often the best form of help that a woman can get. If this is not working they may offer a medication that can also help until they can get to the root of the problem for the woman. - 30309

I am Motivated Because I am Free

By Shawn Doyle

Isn't it funny we have have freedom, but we talk about it all the time? Sadly many others simply just dont have it.

Its' a free society right? Yes, but sometimes we aren't really completely free .

There are many people I meet who are unhappy but do nothing in their apathy. They moan and complain and grit their teeth because they aren't free. They dont get that they already have freedom of choice. They could end the realtionship or get counseling. But the do nothing, nada, and they become slaves to themselves but they dont understand that. Freedom is such a short distance away.

I know people who hate their work and going to work everyday. They could change but they fear doing so. Maybe they think the next job will be worse. If they choose to, they could change their work and even their career. They could change everything the next day but dont.

I know people who tolerate cruelty and mistreatment by family and so-called friends. They tolerate it for years, because they don't think that they have the right to demand respectful treatment. They put up with the negative behavior.

Some people will easily accept what they have in life because of history and life experiences in the past. They are sadly in a rut. They are clearly in a big rut but dont know that they are.

We all should be greatful that freedom has been given to us as a gift. We must then make the choice to consciously use it now even today. We have to know we have the right and then make the decision to choose to use it.

We can all completely reinvent ourselves in our mind, body, in our wallet and in our spirit. A banker can be a biker if they want to. A bouncer can be a banker if they wnat to So then a ballet dancer can be a bouncer if they want to. A bouncer can be a bowler if they want to. If you think about it, freedom is the centerpeice of our true happiness or can be. We really can choose and exert our right and do what we really want. So freedom and the ability to choose is beautiful. - 30309
