How To Stop Panic Attacks

By Riley West

How to stop panic attacks is the number one thing people suffering from this disorder are looking for and they'll try almost anything!

A lot of the methods for curing panic attacks are very temporary, some less so, but, as far as I know only one cure works. Only one cure works fast and is totally natural. We'll cover that in a bit.

And just what is this thing we call a "Panic Attack"? It's like a plane kicking into afterburner! Your anxiety spikes with the fear of an oncoming attack and away you go.

This is accompanied by emotions and thoughts that actually add to this rush of symptoms.

The biggest emotion, or feeling, is that of fear. And fear is the key to stopping panic attacks.

Our "fight or flight" instinct, accompanied by a large rush of adrenaline is the thing that causes us to experience such a high level of discomfort, and, often gives us an urge to run or hide.

We inherited this trait, because this very trait enabled our ancestors to survive. Survival gave them the time to breed and pass down the instinct, thereby helping to insure survival of our children. We have it, it's built in, and it's normal.

What isn't normal is a huge panic attack triggered by the idea (thought) of a business meeting. Also not normal is the fear of that panic attack becoming the driver of a severe anxiety spike that can last for hours and make the victim think they are going crazy or dying of a heart attack. That's definitely NOT normal!

A scene like this happens to tens of thousands of people, every day, who are caught up in this vicious cycle of "fearing the panic attack will happen causes the attack to occur."

You are afraid of the panic attack and you are especially afraid of it in a business meeting. When you get to the meeting...bingo! That's your trigger.

You see, people who don't have the panic attack syndrome running amok in their lives, will encounter something dangerous, jump into the "solution mode" (fight or flight) and deal with it. They'll run away or, in some manner , be stronger than the fear.

Still, when a person who suffers from panic attack anxiety syndrome runs into the thing that triggers their fear of an imminent attack, it can set things off in a big way, escalating into a full on fear and panic episode.

When I was struggling with panic attacks (for six years!) my fear trigger was the thought of a meeting, business or personal. I was afraid that I would have a panic attack that caused me to behave like a crazy man, AND that I wouldn't be able to explain it to my friends and associates! So, even though my main fear was that of a panic attack, it was also all tied up with embarrassment, ego and the feeling that maybe I really was crazy and losing it fast.

The 'secret" of how to stop panic attacks is to get over the fear of them. Get used to them, so to speak. Once that is accomplished they are gone and, in my case, never to return

As I said, I quite randomly came to the mental position it took for me to discard my fear of panic attacks. I did it in about two minutes on one afternoon while stopped at a traffic light. It was as easy as making a simple decision. But it took me six years to get there! What a waste! Still, I did it! And you can do it, too. It just takes a little change in your thinking and all of a sudden you are not afraid of the attacks! That breaks the "spell".

Only you don't have to wait six years! Discover how to stop panic attacks today. - 30309
