I am Motivated Because I am Free

By Shawn Doyle

Isn't it funny we have have freedom, but we talk about it all the time? Sadly many others simply just dont have it.

Its' a free society right? Yes, but sometimes we aren't really completely free .

There are many people I meet who are unhappy but do nothing in their apathy. They moan and complain and grit their teeth because they aren't free. They dont get that they already have freedom of choice. They could end the realtionship or get counseling. But the do nothing, nada, and they become slaves to themselves but they dont understand that. Freedom is such a short distance away.

I know people who hate their work and going to work everyday. They could change but they fear doing so. Maybe they think the next job will be worse. If they choose to, they could change their work and even their career. They could change everything the next day but dont.

I know people who tolerate cruelty and mistreatment by family and so-called friends. They tolerate it for years, because they don't think that they have the right to demand respectful treatment. They put up with the negative behavior.

Some people will easily accept what they have in life because of history and life experiences in the past. They are sadly in a rut. They are clearly in a big rut but dont know that they are.

We all should be greatful that freedom has been given to us as a gift. We must then make the choice to consciously use it now even today. We have to know we have the right and then make the decision to choose to use it.

We can all completely reinvent ourselves in our mind, body, in our wallet and in our spirit. A banker can be a biker if they want to. A bouncer can be a banker if they wnat to So then a ballet dancer can be a bouncer if they want to. A bouncer can be a bowler if they want to. If you think about it, freedom is the centerpeice of our true happiness or can be. We really can choose and exert our right and do what we really want. So freedom and the ability to choose is beautiful. - 30309
